An early autumn rant

I got an email from sourceforge telling me about a new feature that they "will add to SourceForge.net in late spring/early summer" So that does mean that all the open source developers in South America, Southern Africa and Australia get to the feature 6 months early, or 6 months late?
It may seem petty, but it peeves me.
The world has pretty much come to a consensus that there are 12 months in the year, and they have generally accepted names. Why do companies insist on ignoring that, and use the northern hemisphere seasons to describe periods of the year?
So, what I think SF is trying to say is that they'll be adding the feature in the May-July period. But I may have to wait until November-January before I'm allowed to use it.
